MUZAFFARNAGAR: At least eight
people were injured when a group of villagers pelted stones on a marriage party
belonging to another community over playing of music at Paldi village in the district.
Trouble started on Wednesday evening when some villagers objected to playing of loud music at a marriage ceremony.
After a heated exchange of words, a group of villagers started pelting stones at the marriage party belonging to another community, leaving eight injured, police said on Thursday.
A case has been registered and 12 people have been arrested in this connection, they said.
Tension prevailed in the village and security has been tightened with extra police force deployed.
