Vivek Sharma, Gurugram: Gurugram on the occasion of Devarshi Narad Jayanti on Saturday witnessed a symposium organized under the joint aegis of Vishwa Samvad Kendra Haryana, and Journalist Association, Gurugram. Chief speaker Dr. Rama said that injustice has been done not only to Narad but also to history in our country. He said that there was a time when journalism was considered a mission.
“Those with no consideration and high expectations should opt journalism as their career. The freedom movement is a witness to how the journalists worked. As long as journalism remains a mission, people have faith in it. Journalism is the mirror of the society. Journalist serves that mirror in front of society. Transparency in journalism should not be such that it harms society and the nation. Journalism is the first pillar, when it is strong then democracy will be strong. If it becomes weak then the nation will be weak,” Dr. Rama added.
Dr. Rama said that in this era of technology, today every person is a journalist. He exchanges information. In such a situation, we should take care that we should share only good things. She said that India's economy is being discussed in the world media. He also said that education, health were neglected in our country. Referring to the Corona epidemic, he said that we should find opportunities in disaster. India helped other countries.
In his address, the Dr. Ashok Diwakar, VC, Starex University said that there are very few intelligent people like Maharishi Narad. He could travel in every world. We do not have technology like them today. He was a great scholar of Chhand Shastra. His style of communication was amazing. It is sad that our sages have been maligned. It becomes our responsibility to depict Devrishi Narad ji's thoughts and his life character correctly. He said that journalism is the first pillar to save democracy. Dr. Diwakar also expressed his views on educational institutions. At the same time, he said that Devrishi Narad ji should not be discussed only in such a House, it should be a topic of discussion outside it as well.
Chief guest Bodhraj Sikri said that Devrishi Narad used to communicate information, whereas in our society he was taken negatively. Narad ji was included in our comedy. He said that had Narad ji not been there, there would have been no Treta Yug. Narad Ji was also the reason for Lord Ram's arrival. Then Shriram balanced the environment in the forests for 14 years. Embraced the forest dwellers, abolished caste system. He said that journalism should not be for TRP. Journalism should have a purpose. There should be feeling towards the nation. There should be journalism of transparency. The interest of the country and society should be in the writing of a journalist.
Sanjay Yadav, President of Journalist Association, Gurgaon, congratulating everyone on Narad Jayanti, said that the only effort of all of us should be to continue to benefit society through our journalism. Society should benefit from journalism. He told the journalism students present in the program that we have only heard Narayan-Narayan of Narad ji. We probably don't know anything beyond that. We need to read and teach the truth about Narad ji, only then the misconceptions will be removed. We should know about his life. Mr. Yadav also said that next year the program of Narad Jayanti will be organized on a bigger scale.
